Why it was recalled
An engine stall can increase the risk of a crash.
What was recalled
Cummins Inc. (Cummins) is recalling certain remanufactured CM871 Engine Control Modules (ECMs), part number 3684275RX. these parts were sold exclusively for installation as replacement parts in Cummins ISX engines (in truck and bus applications) and in remanufactured ISX engines. A component within the ECM may have cracked solder joints, possibly resulting in an engine stall.
What to do
Cummins will notify owners, and dealers will replace the ECMs, free of charge. The recall began December 18, 2019. Owners may contact Cummins customer service at 1-800-286-6467.. Follow the official notice for full instructions.
