Why it was recalled
The steering wheel's connection to the front axle could fail resulting in a sudden loss of steering ability, increasing the risk of a crash.
What was recalled
Daimler Trucks North America LLC (DTNA) is recalling certain model year 2015-2016 FCCC XBP, XBR, XCM, XCR, XCL, and XCP trucks manufactured May 1, 2014, to June 16, 2015, equipped with certain ZF RL77 / 80EM independent front steering axles equipped with Bosch 8018 steering boxes. The boxes were manufactured using incorrect internal spacers that can cause premature wear in the connection between the steering wheel and the front axle.

The recall began on May 31, 2016. Owners may contact DTNA customer service at 1-800-547-0712. DTNA's number for this recall is FL-712.. Follow the official notice for full instructions.
