Why it was recalled
If the instrument panel doesn't display warnings, the driver may be unaware that braking force is reduced, increasing the risk of a crash.
What was recalled
Daimler Trucks North America LLC (DTNA) is recalling certain model year 2015 Freightliner Business Class M2 vehicles manufactured June 4, 2014, to December 1, 2014 that are equipped with hydraulic brakes and a Bosch Hydro-Max Brake Boost Pump. Due to an incompatibility between the boost pump switch and the instrument cluster, certain instrument display brake warnings may not illuminate correctly when there is a problem with the brake system.
What to do
DTNA will notify owners, and dealers will install the correct brake switch, free of charge. The recall began on April 13, 2015. Owners may contact DTNA customer service at 1-800-745-8000. DTNA's number for this recall is FL-677.. Follow the official notice for full instructions.
