Why it was recalled

A loss of connection between the steering wheel and front wheels can cause a loss of vehicle control, increasing the risk of a crash.

What was recalled

Daimler Trucks North America LLC (DTNA) is recalling certain 2018-2019 Freightliner Business Class M2 trucks. The steering shaft assembly may have been installed incorrectly, which can cause a loss of connection between the steering wheel and the front wheels.

What to do

DTNA has notified owners, and dealers will inspect the steering assembly installation, repairing it as necessary, free of charge. The recall began August 9, 2018.
