The shrimp powder is manufactured in Thailand and imported to the United States by Eastland. Eastland then distributes the shrimp powder nationwide to retail stores.

Why it was recalled

The New York Department of Agriculture and Markets notified Eastland Food Corp. that they analyzed a sample of the shrimp powder and determined that the product contained FD&C Yellow #6, but the label failed to declare its presence. Yellow #6 can cause an allergic reaction for a small population of individuals.

Class II means using this product may cause temporary or medically reversible health problems; the chance of serious harm is remote.
