A fractured steering gear can cause the steering to bind or lock, resulting in a loss of steering control and increasing the risk of a crash.

What was recalled

Ford Motor Company (Ford) is recalling certain 2024 F-150 vehicles. The steering gear assembly may have been assembled with an incorrect rack, which can cause the gears to fracture.

What to do

Dealers will replace the steering gear assembly, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed February 19, 2025. Owners may contact Ford customer service at 1-866-436-7332. Ford's number for this recall is 25S04.. Follow the official notice for full instructions.
