Why it was recalled
Tie rod failure can cause a loss of vehicle steering control and increase the risk of a crash.
What was recalled
Ford Motor Company (Ford) is recalling certain tie rod assemblies, with part numbers FC4Z-3280-FA and FC4Z-3280-HA. The front axle tie rod assemblies may contain ball studs that have been incorrectly heat-treated, which can cause them to break, and possibly result in tie rod failure.
What to do
Dealers will provide a refund for the front axle tie rod assemblies, free of charge. Owners may contact Ford customer service at 1-866-436-7332. Ford's number for this recall is 24S47.. Follow the official notice for full instructions.
