Why it was recalled
If a vehicle that has an incorrectly installed abutting wedge is involved in a severe frontal crash, greater force may be necessary to open the doors, increasing the risk of injury.
What was recalled
Forest River, Inc. (Forest River) is recalling certain model year 2015 Coachmen Prism recreational vehicles manufactured from July 1, 2014, through October 14, 2014 and built on Mercedes-Benz Sprinter chassis. In the affected vehicles, the abutting wedge, a component attached to the door jamb to make opening the door easier after a severe frontal impact, may have been installed incorrectly.
What to do
Sprinter will notify owners, and Sprinter dealers will check the installation of the abutting wedge, correcting it as necessary, free of charge. The recall began in March 2015. Owners may contact Forest River customer service at 1-574-642-0437. Forest River's number for this recall is 15V-082.. Follow the official notice for full instructions.
