Why it was recalled
A detached anchor pin would cause the automatic brake adjusters to not properly adjust the brakes to compensate for brake pad wear. If not corrected, this could lead to reduced braking ability or loss of brakes, increasing the risk of a crash. Loose anchor pins could cause the automatic brake adjuster to jam, keeping it from returning to its rest position which may cause the brakes to drag, increasing the risk of a fire.
What was recalled
Great Dane Trailers (Great Dane) is recalling certain 2019 Great Dane Everest CL Multi-Temp trailers equipped with Haldex automatic brake adjusters. During manufacturing, the adjuster anchor pins may not have been properly tightened, causing the pins to loosen or detach.
