Low oil can damage the engine, causing an oil leak or a punctured engine block, increasing the risk of a fire.
What was recalled
HME, Inc. (HME) is recalling certain 2019 Ram 5500 emergency vehicles. The engine calibration software may not warn about low oil volume.
What to do
On behalf of HME, FCA dealers will update the engine calibration software, free of charge. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed February 25, 2022. Owners may contact HME's customer service at 1-616-534-1463.. Follow the official notice for full instructions.
