What was recalled

Navistar, Inc. (Navistar) is recalling certain 2019 International LT heavy diesel trucks equipped with feature codes 29WAY, 504312, and 504455. The lightweight brake drums with slack adjusters may drag against the brakes causing the drums to overheat which can result in the brake drum cracking, separating from the vehicle or the brakes becoming inoperative.

What to do

Navistar has notified owners, and dealers will replace the brake drums and slack adjusters and replace the brake linings, free of charge. The recall began on May 23, 2018.
