Why it was recalled

A loss of electrical contact will cause the electric power steering assist to deactivate, increasing the risk of a crash.

What was recalled

Mercedes-Benz USA, LLC. (MBUSA) is recalling certain 2016-2017 C300 vehicles. The electrical contacts for the power steering electric motor may not have been properly welded, possibly resulting in a loss of electrical contact.

What to do

MBUSA will notify owners, and dealers will replace the electric power steering rack, free of charge. The recall began June 2017. Owners may contact MBUSA customer service at 1-800-367-6372.. Follow the official notice for full instructions.
