What was recalled

WASHINGTON, April 12, 2016 Mountain Products Inc., a Lagrangeville, N.Y. establishment, is recalling approximately 467 pounds of bacon and pork sausage products due to misbranding and undeclared allergens, the U.S. Department of Agricultures Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) announced today. The company formulated the pork products with breadcrumbs containing milk, soy, and wheat, known allergens that were not listed on the finished product labels. The Mountain Products Smokehouse brand bacon, Irish bangers, and other sausage items were produced on various dates between March 31, 2014, and March 9, 2016. The following products are subject to recall: [ View Label (PDF Only)] 1-lb. packages of SMOKED CAJUN STYLE PORK SAUSAGE READY TO EAT with a packaging date of 1/5/15. 1-lb. packages of HOT ITALIAN SAUSAGE with packaging dates of 9/9/15, 1/29/16, and 3/9/16. 1-lb. packages of SWEET ITALIAN SAUSAGE with packaging dates of 9/9/15 and 3/9/16. 1-lb. packages of BREAKFAST SAUSAGE IN SHEEP CASING with a packaging date of 1/29/16. 1-lb. packages of IRISH BANGERS with packaging dates of 3/31/14, 1/5/15, 3/10/15, 6/10/15, 7/15/15, 9/9/15, 1/29/16, 3/2/16, and 3/9/16. 1-lb. packages of Giovannis Delizioso PARMESAN & OREGANO COUNTRY STYLE BACON with a packaging date of 11/20/15. The products subject to recall bear establishment number EST. M17458 inside the USDA mark of inspection. These items were shipped to retail locations in Dutchess County, New York and the state of California. The problem was discovered by FSIS during routine label review verification at the firm on April 11, 2016. Upon further investigation, it was discovered that additional product types may had been cross-contaminated with milk, soy, and wheat. There have been no confirmed reports of adverse reactions due to consumption of these products. Anyone concerned about an injury or illness should contact a healthcare provider.
