WASHINGTON, June 19, 2014 Bellisio Foods, Inc., a Jackson, Ohio, establishment, is recalling approximately 12,180 pounds of a Thai Kitchen Chicken Pad Thai frozen entrEe product due to misbranding and an undeclared allergen, the U.S. Department of Agriculture's Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) announced today. The product contains soy protein isolate, a known allergen, which is not declared on the product label. The following product is subject to recall: [ View Labels (PDF Only)] 10-oz. packages, 8 per case of iThai Kitchen Chicken Pad Thai frozen entrEe with iSELL BY SEP 30 15” date and case code ixxxx09841078” or with iSELL BY OCT 17 15” date and case code ixxxx11541078” The product was produced on April 8 and April 25, 2014. The product bears the establishment number iP-18297” inside the USDA mark of inspection. The product was distributed to retail stores nationwide. The problem was discovered by the company when they conducted a label review and found that all the sub-ingredients of the Chicken Pad Thai were not listed on the packaging labels. FSIS and the company have received no reports of adverse reactions due to consumption of these products. Anyone concerned about a reaction should contact a healthcare provider. FSIS routinely conducts recall effectiveness checks to ensure that steps are taken to make certain that the product is no longer available to consumers.
