Why it was recalled
With the air tank volume being less than required, in certain situations the vehicle may have an insufficient quantity of air to operate the brakes, increasing the risk of a crash.
What was recalled
Oshkosh Corporation (Oshkosh) is recalling certain model year 2014-2015 S-Series Front Discharge Concrete Mixer vehicles manufactured September 24, 2013, to November 12, 2014. The affected vehicles have air tanks that hold less than the required 12 times the combined volume of the service brake chambers. As a result, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) No. 121, "Air Brake Systems."
What to do
Oshkosh will notify owners and dealers will install a larger capacity air tank, free of charge. The recall began April 15, 2015. Owners may contact Oshkosh customer service at 1-888-686-7278. Oshkosh's number for this recall is VSR-TSB-010.. Follow the official notice for full instructions.
