Why it was recalled
If the mounting bolts loosen, the bolts on the torque converter bolt flange may shear, resulting in a sudden loss of drive power, and increasing the risk of a crash.
What was recalled
Oshkosh Corporation (Oshkosh) is recalling certain model year 2015 S-Series Front Discharge concrete mixer glider trucks manufactured February 10, 2015, to March 20, 2015. The affected vehicles have Allison HD4500 transmissions that were remanufactured by Valley Truck Parts that may be coated with a thick layer of paint on the torque converter to adaptation kit mounting surface which can soften during vehicle operation. This may result in the mounting bolts loosening.
What to do
Oshkosh has notified owners, and Valley Truck Parts will remove the paint from the mating surface of the torque converter, and replace the bolts, free of charge. The recall began on May 8, 2015. Owners may contact Oshkosh customer service at 1-888-686-7278.. Follow the official notice for full instructions.
