Why it was recalled

The lithium-ion battery packs in the self-balancing scooters/hoverboards can overheat, posing a risk of the products smoking, catching fire and/or exploding.

What was recalled

This recall involves non-UL certified Hovertrax brand self-balancing scooters, commonly referred to as hoverboards. Hovertrax hoverboards have two wheels at either end of articulated dual platforms and are powered by lithium-ion battery packs. The recalled Hovertrax brand hoverboards have serial numbers beginning with 55X120-01, 55X120-02, 55X110-01, 55X110-02 and 55X230-01. The serial number is printed on a white sticker on the bottom of the deck or on the charger.

What to do

Consumers should immediately stop using these recalled products and contact Razor to return their hoverboard for a free replacement hoverboard that is certified to comply with UL 2272.. Follow the official notice for full instructions.
