Why it was recalled
If the seat detaches from its base in the event of a crash, there is an increased risk of injury to the occupant.
What was recalled
Rosenbauer Motors (Rosenbauer) is recalling certain 2012-2016 Commander vehicles manufactured January 2, 2012, to May 16, 2016. The affected vehicles have Battalion air suspension seats that may separate from its base in a frontal collision. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) number 207, "Seating Systems."
What to do
Rosenbauer will notify owners, and dealers will attach two tethers from the seat to the cab, free of charge. The recall began on July 11, 2016. Owners may contact Rosenbauer customer service at 1-651-462-1000.. Follow the official notice for full instructions.
