Why it was recalled
Helmets that do not adequately protect the wearer increase their risk of injury in the event of a crash.
What was recalled
Tong Ho Hsing Industrial Co. (THH) is recalling certain Hawk AP-80 motorcycle helmets, part number T378, size M. The affected helmets may not adequately protect a user in the event of a head impact during a crash. As such, these helmets fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) number 218, "Motorcycle Helmets."
What to do
THH will notify owners and provide a replacement helmet free of charge or they will offer a full refund. The recall is expected to begin during September 2016. Owners may contact THH customer service at 1-978-483-8072.. Follow the official notice for full instructions.
